An Apology to Myself and My Book
An honest (and slightly painful) truth: After pouring myself into writing, editing, and publishing The Well Within, from this vantage point a year later, I know that didn’t give it my book the launch it deserved.
An honest (and slightly painful) truth: After pouring myself into writing, editing, and publishing The Well Within, from this vantage point a year later, I know that didn’t give my book the launch it deserved. We did celebrate with a wonderful party, but the marketing — such a critical piece — definitely fell short. That was 100% my fault and the irony isn’t lost on me, given my career in marketing.
I could blame my demanding job, family responsibilities, or my non-negotiable wellness routine. But the truth is simpler: I needed a break. Crossing the finish line of writing this book left me completely spent and I wasn't able to rally the way I should have.
Now, one year later, I’m at peace with how things unfolded organically. A few hundred copies have sold, dozens of thoughtful reviews have come in, and many books have been signed and gifted at my speaking events — all done without much of a push from me. But today, I’m ready to re-share this important work with those who may feel adrift, burned out, or disconnected from themselves.
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to get your copy of The Well Within. Inside, you’ll find unfiltered truths about the toll personal and professional leadership can take, and practical steps to shift out of fight-or-flight mode and back into your authentic self.
Here’s a passage from pp. 18–19, in the How to Use This Book section:
In the Well Within, we will explore ways to keep yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy. It doesn’t need to be done through huge, life-altering changes. You can receive significant benefits from making small, subtle adjustments. And when it seems impossible to stay healthy, when reality hits hard, and you get knocked down a few levels, we’ll also look at ways you can intentionally self-heal.
Above all else, this book is designed to offer you the encouragement and permission to go within. It will challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone of perceived safety. It will encourage you to embark on a journey to discover who you are at your core.
When you truly know yourself, by knowing who you are and what you desire, you will be able to craft the life you want to live. You will learn how to set personally inspiring and exciting goals and go after them. You will become one of the people who are awake in the world, who magnetize goodness and opportunity. You will learn how to see, with bright eyes and a clear heart, that despite what we hear on the news, this life is bursting with pure potential that is right here, right now, just waiting for you to claim it.
If this resonates with you, I’d love for you to join me on this journey by picking up your copy of The Well Within. And if you’ve already read it, would you consider leaving a review on Amazon? Your review will both help me personally and help others be able to find the book when they need it most.
With deep gratitude,
Kalia
